Volume Keeper — Privacy Policy

Volume Keeper is a browser extension that lets you boost or lower the audio volume of websites and remembers your chosen level for each site. This policy explains what data the extension does and does not handle.

Data we collect

None. Volume Keeper does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal information. There is no analytics, no tracking, no remote server, and no account.

Data stored on your device

The extension saves your volume and equalizer preferences locally using the browser's chrome.storage.local API. This data:

• stays on your own computer (and syncs only through your own browser if you have Chrome sync enabled);
• contains only website origins (e.g. https://www.youtube.com) and the volume/EQ values you set;
• is never sent anywhere by us.

You can erase it at any time by removing the extension or clearing its storage in the browser.

Permissions

• storage — to remember your per-site volume settings.
• host access to all sites (<all_urls>) — the extension must run on whichever website you choose to adjust the volume on; it cannot know in advance which sites those are. It only reads and routes audio from media elements on the page and does not read page content or browsing history.
