DiffLens is a browser extension that compares two pieces of text and shows the differences. This policy explains what data the extension does and does not handle.
None. DiffLens does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal information. There is no analytics, no tracking, no remote server, and no account. The extension requests no host permissions and makes no network requests of any kind — the text you compare never leaves your browser.
The extension saves your work locally using the browser's
chrome.storage.local API. This data stays on your own device, contains
only the two texts you are comparing, any comparisons you choose to save to
History, and your view/compare preferences, and is never sent anywhere by us.
You can erase it by clearing the panes, deleting saved History entries, or removing
the extension.
Files you open or drop into DiffLens are read locally with the browser's
FileReader and are never uploaded.
Questions can be raised via the extension's Chrome Web Store listing or its source repository.
